Overview

Hoglip, like its evolution, possesses the Gotta Go Fast trait, boosting all of its moves to 3 priority. With respectably strong speed and special attacks stats for a pre-evolution, this allows it to make great use of the burns from Plasma Beam to help its poor bulk, and Generify to mitigate its highly vulnerable typing. Although the damage from Plasma Beam is fairly lacking, after turn 1 it gets access to more powerful moves in Hellfire, also allowing it to continue to apply burns, and Fire Tornado for large damage. Hoglip’s other trait is Fast Charge, which can allow it to speed up other Digitals with its trait, at the cost of losing its own speed from Gotta Go Fast.
